The advent of global cinema has fostered to unleash the creativity beyond the cultural and regional barriers with the exchange of artists between east and west. After Dimple Kapadia grabbing a pivotal role in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, another iconic actress paves her way to Hollywood yet again.

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi joins the team of Steven Spielberg’s 9 part web series titled Halo, which will be helmed by Otto Bathurst. Halo which is a drama adaptation of the popular video game of the same name will also star Natascha McElhone, Bokeem Woodbine, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac and Kate Kennedy.

Shabana Azmi will be essaying the role of the head of the Office of Naval Intelligence, Admiral Margaret Parangosky.

Previously, Shabana Azmi played pivotal parts in few foreign projects, including Madame Sousatzka, La Nuit Bengali, City of Joy and Son of Pink Panther. Besides, she was also seen on international television shows like Banglatown Banquet, Capital and Next Of Kin.

Talking about her involvement in the series, Shabana Azmi said to a leading entertainment portal, “It can’t get bigger than this! Asian actors have been fighting for colour blind casting for years .. finally it’s become a reality! This is completely new territory for me. I’m both excited and nervous which is a good place to be in.“

On being questioned about her casting in the series, Shabana said, “It just fell into my lap! I had to give up on two projects I was scheduled to do here but I figured it would be worth it”.
