With the phenomenon of artists and content exchange, the bandwidth of regional cinema has widened its market for national consumption. This shift has enriched their creative and artistic experience beyond the boundaries.

Tollywood’s new kid Naveen Polishetty whose recent Telugu debut with Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya stood tall at the box office is all set to make his debut in Nitiesh Tiwari’s Bollywood directorial Chhichhore starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor.

Talking about his Bollywood debut, Naveen said to a leading daily, “2109 has been a memorable for me; I recently made my Telugu debut with Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya, which was a super hit, and I am all gung-ho about my Bollywood debut, Chhichhore, which is releasing in this year too. I never expected that I would debut in both the industries in the same year.”

Naveen’s YouTube videos in Hindi caught the attention of the makers of the film, who then called him for an audition. About the same, Naveen said, “Six months later, they called me again for another round of audition. After I was through, Nitesh hugged me saying that I am part of the Chhichhore team. I was thrilled to bits and the joy was inexplicable.”

Speaking about his character in the film, Naveen explained that he will essay the role of a college student.

“Chhichhore is about the lives of six youngsters, celebrating friendship, the only statehood where you can be truly yourself. The film captures the fizz in a friendship, and I play the role of Acid, an interesting character,” he added.

Commenting about his camaraderie with Nitesh, Naveen elaborated, “Both Nitesh and I are engineering graduates, and we were talking about our respective college days. He’s a great human being and working with him is bliss. He was like a big brother. In fact, he was the one who launched the trailer of my Telugu film.”

Adding further, the actor shared his experience working with Shraddha Kapoor in the film. Naveen said, “I used to joke with her that this year has been the debut year for both of us in Telugu. Singing was our common interest.”

Currently, Naveen feels that he is in a great phase as an actor owing to the success of his Telugu debut that has fetched him with the mounting number of scripts.
